Jordan Banks
B.Eng (Hons) | Naval Architect | AMSA Accredited Marine Surveyor
As the founder and Managing Director of Commercial Vessels Australia (CVA), Jordan brings a unique "triple-threat" perspective to every project: he is a qualified Naval Architect, an AMSA Accredited Marine Surveyor, and a specialist in commercial maritime fabrication.
Jordan founded CVA to solve a recurring industry problem—the disconnect between complex vessel design and the practical realities of the shipyard. By unifying elite engineering with hands-on manufacturing in Bairnsdale, he ensures that every vessel is not just mathematically sound on a screen, but "build-ready" and "survey-ready" from the very first weld.

A defining career milestone involved providing critical stability analysis for the 231m HMAS Adelaide (L01). His work within the Australian Defence Force sector also includes technical contributions to the HMAS Choules, ensuring operational readiness for some of the nation's most significant naval assets.

Extensive experience working with the Australian Super Yacht and Cruise Ship industries while based in Sydney. This period involved navigating complex compliance frameworks and delivering bespoke engineering solutions for high-value maritime assets.

Since 2022, Jordan has been a key driver in full-scale in-house design, focusing on the "real-time" evolution of maritime architecture. Notable projects include:
12m Search and Rescue (SAR) Vessel (R203): Specialized design for high-performance emergency response.

As an AMSA-accredited Marine Surveyor, Jordan has completed a vast array of small-to-medium marine consulting jobs. This dual perspective as both a designer and a surveyor ensures that every project is built with a fundamentalunderstanding of safety, longevity, and regulatory excellence.
Under Jordan’s leadership, CVA operates as a vertically integrated facility within the Spearhead Marine Group, delivering mission-ready aluminium assets for emergency services, tourism, and commercial operators across Australia.
